The rescue started because of the significant increase in animals being advertised ‘free to a good home’ on free ad sites. Most of the time, checks that are needed to make sure the dog will be safe are not carried out and unfortunately many dogs do not end up in the ‘loving environment’ that people are led to believe they are going to. We are completely volunteer managed and 100% of our funds goes towards supporting the dogs in our care. We try to help as many dogs as we can and now the majority of our dogs come from …

NCPPSP In a recent study conducted by the National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy (NCPPSP) and published in the July issue of the Journal of Applied Animal Welfare Science (JAAWS), researchers went into 12 selected animal shelters in the United States for one year to find out why. The results of the study show that the top seven reasons for relinquishment for both dogs and cats are the same.
